Locum Tenens: General Medicine NP Needed (Near Shady Cove, OR) (ASAP – Ongoing) Are you a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity in General Medicine near Shady Cove, OR? We’re actively searching for skilled clinicians to join our growing team and provide essential medical evaluations for Veterans (Job ID: j-229550). Make a Difference for Our Veterans: Contribute to a meaningful cause by conducting Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans across the state of Oregon. This is a PRN (as-needed) position with ongoing availability, allowing you to tailor your work schedule to your preferences. Flexible Work Options & Streamlined Credentialing: Enjoy the flexibility to choose your work environment! Travel and perform exams at Veterans Examination Service (VES) leased facilities, or schedule Veterans within your existing practice setting. You can also choose to work half days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours). Benefit from a quick and efficient credentialing process to get you started quickly. Focus on Assessment & Evaluation with Supportive Training: Utilize your clinical skills to conduct one-time, non-treatment C&P exams and separation health assessments. These evaluations primarily involve interviews with some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. There is no prescribing or treatment involved. We provide training for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) to ensure you’re comfortable with the process. Qualifications: Active license as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP) in the state of Oregon is required. A strong clinical background in General Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Orthopedic Surgery is preferred. Experience with Compensation & Pension exams is a plus. Familiarity with Musculoskeletal conditions, Diabetes, and Cardiovascular conditions is essential. Proficiency in METs testing, evaluation, and diagnosis of respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions is required. Ability to utilize a Goniometer for range of motion testing is necessary. Possession of a personal laptop (excluding Macs) is mandatory. Additional Responsibilities: Timely submission of DBQs within 48 hours of exam completion – these are standardized forms, not narrative reports. Completion of evaluations within the VES provider portal. Review of Veterans’ medical records in most cases. Follow-up administrative tasks such as addendums, medical opinions, and reviewing diagnostics. Additional Information: This locum tenens position offers a unique opportunity to support our Veterans’ healthcare needs in a flexible and meaningful way near Shady Cove, OR.
