Focus on Inpatient Care:Dedicate your time to delivering vital GI services within a hospital setting. This includes inpatient consultations, performing procedures such as ERCP, and collaborating with the emergency department on GI emergencies. Diverse Patient Population:Gain valuable experience managing a variety of GI conditions in adult patients. Seamless Technology:Leverage your familiarity with Cerner, the electronic medical records system used at the facility. Key Responsibilities: Respond promptly to in-house call situations, providing timely consultations and interventions for hospitalized patients with GI conditions. Perform a variety of inpatient GI procedures, including ERCP (required) and potentially EUS (highly preferred) to diagnose and treat complex GI issues. Collaborate effectively with the emergency department to manage patients presenting with GI emergencies. Conduct comprehensive inpatient consultations and provide ongoing care management for patients with a variety of GI conditions. Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the Cerner EMR system. Qualifications for Success: Current board certification in Gastroenterology or eligibility within 3 years of residency completion is mandatory. Valid and active medical license in the state of Iowa or an active Interstate Medical License Compact (IMLC) is required. Current ACLS certification is mandatory. A willingness and ability to work within an inpatient setting is essential. Experience performing ERCP is required. Experience with EUS is highly preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, colleagues, and staff. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment is crucial.
