Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist Needed near Abbotsford, WI (j-235887) Seeking a Skilled and Experienced Gastroenterologist for Locum Tenens Role Are you a dedicated Gastroenterologist passionate about providing comprehensive GI care? We’re searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Abbotsford, WI. This temporary opportunity offers a flexible start date as soon as possible (ASAP) and extends until the permanent position is filled. Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastrointestinal care to a diverse patient population, including adults with a variety of digestive disorders. Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations, diagnose digestive diseases, and develop effective treatment plans. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and other GI procedures. Prescribe medications and provide ongoing medical management for patients with chronic digestive conditions. Perform admissions for inpatients with gastrointestinal issues and manage their care throughout their hospital stay. Collaborate effectively with nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in hospital rounds and provide care for assigned patients on the inpatient unit. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Epic electronic medical record system. Qualifications: Active and unrestricted Wisconsin (WI) medical license or eligible for Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) privileges. Board-certified in Internal Medicine with a fellowship in Gastroenterology is mandatory. Experience in a hospital setting managing adult patients with gastrointestinal disorders is preferred. Excellent clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and strong clinical foundation in gastroenterology. Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and healthcare teams. Demonstrated proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and EGDs. Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting.
