Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Needed in Psychiatry near Junction, IA (j-235988) Seeking a Qualified and Compassionate NP/PA to Join Our Psychiatry Team Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) passionate about providing mental health care? We’re searching for a skilled clinician to join our team in a growing community near Junction, IA. This full-time opportunity offers a flexible schedule and starts as soon as possible (ASAP), with ongoing needs to help fill a provider vacancy. Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive and compassionate psychiatric care to adult and adolescent patients (ages 8 and above) within an inpatient behavioral health unit and hospital consultation setting. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop effective treatment plans. Provide individual and group therapy sessions, medication management, and crisis intervention as needed. Collaborate effectively with nurses, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in daily call coverage on a predictable 1:4 rotation (one day of call for every four clinic days). Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Cerner electronic medical record system. Work autonomously within established protocols, seeking consultation from supervising physicians when necessary. Qualifications: Active and unrestricted Iowa (IA) license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Board certification in Psychiatry is mandatory. Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting providing mental health care to adults and/or adolescents is preferred. Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in psychiatry. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Additional Considerations: This opportunity offers a full-time schedule with a consistent Monday-Friday clinic schedule (8:00 am – 5:00 pm), including one hour for an unpaid lunch break. You will be collaborating with a supportive team of two other NPs/PAs in the practice and one additional PA in the Emergency Department (ER).
