Locum Tenens Orthopaedic Surgeon Needed (Near Trout Creek, MI) – ASAP – Ongoing (Job ID: j-234170) Are you a dedicated and experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity in a growing community near Trout Creek, Michigan? We are a well-established, reputable practice within a Level III Trauma Facility, and we’re actively searching for a skilled surgeon to join our team on a call and in-office basis. Diverse Practice Environment: Gain valuable experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, encompassing a variety of orthopaedic cases, excluding spine. Focus on Total Joints: Utilize your expertise in total joint replacements while collaborating with a skilled team to manage other orthopaedic needs. Supportive & Efficient Work Environment: Benefit from a flexible OR schedule with block time assignments, collaborate with experienced physician assistants and surgical staff, and utilize a fully digital radiology department. What You’ll Do: Manage emergency department call as needed, primarily consulting on bread-and-butter cases; complex patients are typically transferred. Conduct comprehensive consultations and examinations in the outpatient setting to diagnose and develop treatment plans for orthopaedic conditions. Perform surgical procedures, with a focus on total joint replacements, in a collaborative and efficient operating room environment. Order and interpret diagnostic tests to guide treatment decisions for both inpatients and outpatients. Collaborate with physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in the MediTech electronic medical record system. Who You Are: Board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery. Current and active license to practice medicine in Michigan (MI only). Strong clinical skills and experience in managing a variety of orthopaedic conditions, including fractures, sports injuries, and proficiency in total joint replacements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Adaptability and flexibility to work within a call coverage schedule and an outpatient setting.
