What this Opportunity Offers: Flexible Contract Options:Choose a contract length that works for you, ranging from 6 to 12 months, with the possibility of extending into a permanent role. Diverse Practice Setting: Gain experience in both a comfortable outpatient clinic setting and a well-equipped hospital with access to 28 operating rooms across two facilities. Focus on Breast Surgery: Utilize your expertise in breast surgery while performing a variety of procedures including breast surgeries, cholecystectomies, and hernioplasties. Weekend and Call Coverage: Maintain a manageable work-life balance with a variable schedule, including clinic hours (Wednesday & Thursday), OR time (Monday & Tuesday), and call responsibilities (schedule to be determined). Seamless Technology: Leverage your familiarity with EPIC, the EMR system used at the practice. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of adult and geriatric patients with breast conditions in the outpatient clinic setting. Perform a variety of breast surgery procedures in the operating room, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Assist with other general surgical cases as needed, including cholecystectomies and hernioplasties. Collaborate effectively with the on-call team to manage patient care needs outside of regular clinic hours. Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the EPIC EMR system. Qualifications for Success: Current board certification in General Surgery is mandatory. Valid and active medical license in the state of South Carolina and a DEA registration are required (no exceptions). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary. A clean background check (medical and criminal) is essential. Extensive training and experience in breast surgery is highly preferred, with a fellowship strongly encouraged. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, colleagues, and staff. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment is crucial. Full-time availability is required.
