Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist Needed ASAP – Ongoing (Near York, PA) (j-233251) Are you a board-certified gastroenterologist seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity in a dynamic healthcare setting near York, Pennsylvania? We are actively searching for a skilled and dedicated physician to join our team and provide coverage for a long-term vacancy until a permanent replacement is found. Focus on Call Coverage: This position allows you to maintain a flexible schedule by focusing on call coverage, ensuring timely and comprehensive care for our patients when needed. Diverse Clinical Experience: Upon responding to call needs, you will encounter a variety of inpatient and outpatient gastrointestinal conditions, expanding your expertise. Supportive Team Environment: Collaborate with a team of experienced healthcare professionals dedicated to providing high-quality patient care. Modern Electronic Medical Records: Utilize the Epic electronic medical records system to ensure efficient documentation and communication. Streamlined Credentialing Process: While hospital/surgery center privileges are required, temporary privileges can be facilitated to expedite your start date. What You’ll Do: Respond to call needs and provide timely consultations and management plans for inpatients with a variety of gastrointestinal complications. Conduct bedside procedures, such as paracentesis or thoracentesis, as needed for inpatients. Collaborate with referring physicians, surgeons, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions. Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care within the gastroenterology department. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in gastroenterology and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities (time permitting). Who You Are: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a current and active license to practice medicine in Pennsylvania (only). Board-certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) (required). Fellowship in Gastroenterology preferred. Current ACLS certification (required). BLS certification (required). A commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in both inpatient and consultative settings. Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team. The ability to manage a fast-paced call environment while maintaining a high level of clinical judgment and decision-making.
