Locum Tenens Internal Medicine – Gastroenterology Physician Needed near Willard, NM (j-227537) Are you a dedicated and experienced Internal Medicine physician with a Gastroenterology fellowship seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic outpatient and inpatient setting? We’re seeking a qualified physician to join our team and offer vital support to our Gastroenterology department, managing both high-acuity cases and routine procedures. What You’ll Do: Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions. Perform endoscopic procedures such as ERCP (essential) and EUS (highly preferred). Conduct patient consultations, order diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, and manage medications. Participate in daily rounds and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals. Maintain meticulous documentation within the Epic electronic medical record system. Qualifications: Board-certified in Internal Medicine with a completed Gastroenterology fellowship (required). Active medical license in New Mexico (NM) or eligible for licensure through Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC). Current certifications in ACLS, PALS, BLS, and ATLS. Minimum 60-90 days for credentialing. Strong clinical skills and a comprehensive knowledge base in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Experience performing high-acuity endoscopic procedures (ERCP required). Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage a demanding schedule. Board-eligible candidates will be considered if they have a confirmed date to sit for their boards within 12-18 months of assignment start. Additional Information: Start Date: ASAP – Ongoing Coverage includes major holidays (Memorial Day, Christmas, etc.) with a call schedule offering weekends and holidays only during specific weeks.
