Locum Tenens Hospitalist Needed in Oklahoma (j-234599) Are you a board-certified hospitalist seeking a locum tenens opportunity to provide vital care in a growing healthcare system near Altus, OK? We are actively searching for a qualified physician to join our team and offer comprehensive care to inpatients. Why You Should Consider This Opportunity: Short-Term Commitment with Consistent Schedule: We need a qualified hospitalist to fill a specific need for a week-long coverage period (August 13th – 18th). This locum tenens position offers a predictable schedule ideal for those seeking a short-term but impactful commitment. We’re also open to discussing longer-term engagements (2-3 months) for the right candidate who can commit to a consistent schedule. Focus on Inpatient Care: This position focuses exclusively on inpatient care, allowing you to utilize your skills in managing admissions and coordinating treatment plans for a manageable patient load. Supportive Work Environment: You’ll collaborate with a team of experienced nurses and specialists, including CRNAs, PICC teams, and interventional radiologists. We offer temporary privileges to facilitate onboarding and a supportive work environment that fosters collaboration. Key Qualifications: Licensed to practice medicine in Oklahoma (active license required) Board-certified in internal medicine (or eligible) Current certification in ACLS (BLS preferred) Experience using MediTech EMR system (preferred) Schedule and Patient Load: Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off model with 12-hour day shifts only (night coverage provided by telemedicine service) Patient Load: 20-25 patient encounters per day (including admissions) 5-6 admissions per day Additional Information: Admissions are required for this inpatient-focused role. Rounding assignments will be based on patient acuity. Procedures such as intubations, central line placements, and codes will be managed by dedicated teams or specialists with your support.
