Locum Tenens Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Needed near Gwinn, MI (j-227577) Are you a motivated and experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) seeking a locum tenens opportunity to contribute to exceptional care for critically ill newborns in a dynamic hospital setting? We’re seeking a qualified advanced practice provider to join our team and provide vital support to our neonatology department during a short-term staffing need. What You’ll Do: Function as the first line of call for the Neonatologist, providing immediate assessment and stabilization of critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Work collaboratively with neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for neonates. Perform a variety of advanced practice procedures, including umbilical line placements, chest tube insertions, and lumbar punctures, to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in neonatal resuscitation efforts in the Family Birthing Center and Cesarean Section Suites, ensuring a seamless transition for newborns requiring specialized care. Round on patients in the NICU, monitor their progress, and make necessary adjustments to care plans. Interpret diagnostic studies and order appropriate tests and medications. Provide compassionate and supportive care to families of neonates experiencing a critical illness. Maintain meticulous documentation within the McKesson Paragon electronic medical record system. Qualifications: Active nurse practitioner license in the state of Michigan (MI only). National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP). Current PALS certification. Minimum of 60 days for credentialing (may be expedited with a qualified candidate). Strong clinical skills and a comprehensive knowledge base in neonatal care, with experience in managing a variety of neonatal conditions. Experience performing specialized neonatal procedures is a plus. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and make critical decisions. Compassionate and empathetic demeanor when interacting with families experiencing emotional distress. Additional Information: Start Date: ASAP – Ongoing (assignment ends August 12, 2024) Coverage includes major holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, etc.) with a call schedule (7:00 am – 7:00 pm regular hours, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am call).
