What this Exciting Opportunity Offers: Immediate Impact: Help us launch our new ED by providing essential patient care during key start-up phases on specific dates: August 1st, 4th, 11th, 12th, 19th, 20th, and 21st. Predictable Schedule: Maintain schedule flexibility with focused daytime shifts from 11 AM to 11 PM. Weekends and call coverage are not required. Fast-Paced Environment: Gain valuable experience in a dynamic emergency setting, treating a diverse range of patients alongside a single attending physician. Our Fast Track area allows for efficient management of less emergent cases. Seamless Technology: Leverage your familiarity with Meditech, the EMR system used at the facility. Supportive Team Environment: Collaborate with a dedicated healthcare team and benefit from immediate physician supervision during your assignment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose medical emergencies, and develop appropriate treatment plans. Order and interpret diagnostic tests in collaboration with the supervising physician. Provide timely and effective medical interventions, including medications and procedures, as authorized by your scope of practice. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the Meditech EMR system. Qualifications for Success: Current national certification as an Emergency Medicine NP or PA is mandatory. Valid Texas state license to practice medicine without restrictions. Board certification in your respective specialty is required. A minimum of 1,000 hours of emergency medicine experience within the last 2 years is essential. Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure are crucial. Possession of a current DEA number is required for prescribing medications.
