We are actively searching for a dedicated advanced practice provider (APP) to join our team and provide long-term coverage due to a recent cancellation. This locum tenens position offers a predictable schedule with no on-call responsibilities, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. High Demand, Diverse Patient Population: Contribute significantly by providing emergency medical care to a wide range of patients of all ages within a busy emergency department (ED). Predictable Schedule with Weekends: Enjoy a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with variable hours (36 hours/week) and weekend coverage on a 1:3-4 rotation, offering work-life balance while ensuring comprehensive patient care. Supportive Team Environment: Collaborate with a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals focused on providing exceptional care in a collaborative environment. Modern Electronic Medical Records: Utilize the Cerner electronic medical records system to ensure efficient documentation and communication. Streamlined Credentialing Process: While temporary privileges can be facilitated to expedite your start date, board certification is required within 60 days of employment. What You’ll Do: Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations for patients presenting to the ED with a variety of medical emergencies. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and blood work, to determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for less acute patients, collaborating with physicians as needed for complex cases. Perform a variety of emergency procedures, including splinting, casting, suturing, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, and joint aspirations. Provide ongoing patient education and counseling regarding treatment plans and follow-up care. Maintain clear communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Complete all documentation and billing efficiently to meet department standards. Who You Are: Current and active license to practice as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the state of Wisconsin (preferred) or ability to obtain an Interstate Medical License Compact (IMLC) privilege. National certification as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in a primary care specialty is required. Current ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and BLS certifications (required). A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency medicine setting. Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team. The ability to prioritize effectively, manage a high volume of patients, and make sound clinical decisions in a time-sensitive environment.
