Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult patients in our 29-bed inpatient unit (currently capped at 21 patients for optimal care). Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and other healthcare professionals. Provide medication management, psychotherapy, and other evidence-based interventions. Collaborate with mid-level providers on new patient evaluations and summaries. Participate in daily rounds and consultations with other departments. Maintain clear and concise documentation in the Epic electronic medical record system. Foster a therapeutic and supportive environment for patients during their inpatient stay. Qualifications: Board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Valid Pennsylvania state medical license (temporary privileges available). Minimum two years of experience in a hospital setting providing inpatient psychiatric care. Strong clinical skills, sound medical judgment, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Call Schedule: Predictable call coverage with a rotation amongst providers. Weekend call may be required on occasion. Weekday call involves phone coverage from 5:00 pm to 8:00 am the following morning. Weekend call responsibilities include rounding on inpatient units and seeing new consultations in the emergency department and medical/surgical units. The average number of admissions and calls received during call periods varies, with an estimated range of 2-4 admissions and additional calls for behavioral issues, medication adjustments, and non-routine unit incidents. A 25-minute response time is expected for urgent calls. Facility Details: 29-bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit with a current capped census of 21 patients. Epic electronic medical record system utilized. Daily patient encounters typically involve 3-5 consultations and 5-6 follow-up appointments. Ready to Make a Difference?
