(Physician/MD qualifications required) Psychiatry (General) – Adult psychiatrist to join a well-established and burgeoning hospital employed practice with 2 Full Time Psychiatrist, 3 Mid-Level Providers, Social Services and Administrative staff
General Adult practice with some Geriatrics, there is no child/adolescent responsibility.
Mix of approximately 60% inpatient/40% outpatient. Call is 1-2 nights per week (telephone only) and 1 weekend a month (with rounding). Additional weekend call is optional and compensated above and beyond salary
Psychiatrist will provide evaluation and treatment of patients including but not limited to performing initial and follow up psychiatric assessments ; conduct in-depth interviews with patients to develop a plan of care; assists in the coordination of appropriate follow up care, referrals and case management; initiating, renewing and changing medications ; ordering routine laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic tests and providing initial interpretations of results; providing education and training to the patient and family as necessary; serve as a resource in evaluation and management of psychiatric disorders
