This is a new and urgent need for a C&A Psychiatrist in the VA Beach area of Virginia. This program is the largest in the state of Virginia and provides a truly complete mental health system. Now with over 15 full-time Psychiatrists they have an urgent need to grow once more. The need here is due to growth and our experience with this program is very long and its history has shown us that they have very little turn over; which shows us they are a program that gets both the mission and business of medicine.
Specifically the need is for a full-time C&A Psychiatrist to work in an in-pt. setting; the work will largely be handling C&A patients, down to age six years-old, you will from time to time be asked to provide back up for the adult program but those occasions are very rare.
The position is a salaried one and offers an outstanding base compensation plus and extraordinary benefits package. There is additional pay for weekend call coverage and you may elect or not to participate in that call. The area is ideal; encompassing the communities of Hampton, Newport News, Portsmouth, Norfolk and VA. Beach you truly have multiple options as to where you might live. This position is specific for a Board Prepared or Board Certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. Requirements then are that the successful candidate would have a degree as an M.D. or D.O. with proven residency training in Psychiatry and a fellowship in C&A Psychiatry.
