Job Details:
Responsibilities: Organizes and facilitates the peri-operative patient care and departmental functions. Manager of Operating Room, PACU, Same Day Services, GI Lab and Pre-Admission Nursing. Manages staffing utilization, promotes employee satisfaction, supports staff development, and utilizes the progressive discipline process when appropriate. Leads employees, supports organizational goals and decisions, implements necessary changes, and participates in strategic planning for services needs and resource utilization. Demonstrates sound group leadership skills and is recognized as a positive professional role model. Directs benchmarking opportunities that are evaluated and selected to meet the hospital’s mission and strategic plan. Writes marketing, business and strategic plans to forecast strategic direction of services and helps prepare cost|benefit analysis and trend reports. Conducts interviews and selection process of potential employees. Completes the evaluation of the work performance of employees annually. Promotes and encourages leadership, professional growth and clinical development of staff.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required, Masters degree preferred.
Current license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of California.
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification required.
AHA Healthcare Provider or Red Cross Professional CPR Certification required.
ACLS certification required. Non-violent Crisis Prevention & Intervention preferred.
Five years of clinical nursing experience in Operating Room.
Three years of nursing management or supervision experience in OR|PACU.
