The Director of Perioperative Services is part of the hospital administrative team and assists with the organization, direction, management and evaluation of patient care services for the Perioperative Service areas.
Responsible for the clinical, operational and financial management of the Perioperative Services departments.
Budgetary or fiscal accountability and is responsible 24 hours a day for the ongoing effective operation of units.
Oversees the units operation to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of care and to maximize patient, physician, and employee satisfaction.
Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers.
Develop and review monitoring activities related to the quality of nursing care provided.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Must have strong knowledge of all aspects of Perioperative Services and other areas as applicable, such as Operating Room, Endoscopy, PACU, and|or Central Sterile Processing.
Performs responsibilities in accordance with hospital goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
Develops action plans and reports outcomes to Chief Nursing Officer or Administrative Director of Surgical Services.
Supervises surgical staff and may also supervise PACU, OR, Central Sterile and Pre-op|Ambulatory Care.

Five (5) to Seven (7) years of clinical experience in a Perioperative setting as a Registered Nurse required
Minimum 3 years acute care nursing leadership experience a Perioperative setting required

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in related field required
Master’s degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred

Certifications | Licensure:
Current State Registered Nurse (RN) License and|or other licensure as applicable.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification through the American Heart Association
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association
Advanced National Certification (CNOR) required

Must be able to work under deadlines and utilize independent decision making skills in a wide variety of situations
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage and inspire a team
Computer skills
