Director Of Surgical Services Job Details Department: Surgical Services Position Description: Department Director Status: Full-Time – Exempt Shift: Day Days: Weekdays – Some Call will be Required. Requirements Education / Qualifications: Valid Iowa RN license. BS, BSN or BA, CNOR preferred. BCLS, ACLS current. Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or three to four years related experience and/or trianing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Duties Include: Directly supervise employees in the Surgical Services Department, including Same Day Surgery, PACU, Endoscopy, OR and Central Sterile Processing. Reviews department activities and recommends changes in, or better utilization of facilities, resources, services and staff. Oversees operation of Surgical services and recommends procedures, treatments, or other course of action to assist medical staff. Contributes to positive interpersonal and inter-departmental communication demonstrated by positive interactions with patients, families, peers and physicians. Supports on call team members for after hours procedures as needed.
