Reports to the Nurse Manager|Director and responsible for overseeing all patient care, staffing activities, workflow issues and patient care satisfaction.
Coordinates the activities of the unit and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff.
Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care.
Participates in organizational and unit based quality improvement activities.
Performs a variety of tasks.
Demonstrates the ability to provide consistent direction for all nursing personnel in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing activities.
Emphasis on independent decision making related to the nursing process.
Demonstrates the ability to facilitate unit operations and oversees floor operations in the absence of the Manager|Director.
3-5 years Acute Care Nursing experience required
1-2 years Charge Nurse or Supervisory experience required
Associates Degree of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required
Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred
Masters Degree in Nursing or a healthcare related field a plus
Current State Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Specialty certification desired
Must have strong written and oral communication skills
Demonstrates ability to assess staff needs and develop objective goals
Basic computer skills a must
Maintains clinical and leadership competencies
