Job Overview

Infection Preventionist / Infection Control – RN Responsible for assisting with implementation and maintenance of the Infection Control Programs hospitals surveillance. Serves as a resource to all hospital departments, participating in identified projects or groups related to Infection Control. The IP Coordinator role involves review of microbiology for surveillance per NHSN criteria, NHSN data entry and report analysis, environmental rounding on hospital units for compliance with hospital policy, The Joint Commission, OSHA, state and local requirements, and staff education to policy procedures. Qualifications Education: Minimum Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Clinical Microbiology or other health related science required. Masters in Nursing, Education, Epidemiology, Public Health, Clinical Microbiology, or other health related science preferred. Experience: Two (2) to five (5) years clinical experience in a health-related field required. One (1) year experience in Infection Prevention or epidemiology. Eligible to become certified in Infection Prevention within two (2) years of employment.
