(Physician/MD qualifications required) Orthopedic Surgery (Total Joint) – Seeking a board-certified, or board-eligible, specialist in Orthopedic Surgery. The ideal candidate will have completed residency in the United States, be a U.S. citizen or current legal resident, and be a D.O. or an M.D. The physician will take over an established practice. Office hours are 8 a.m. 5 p.m. weekdays, with a half day off each week. This opportunity is a traditional inpatient|outpatient practice. Other physician specialties at the practice office include family medicine, OB|GYN, pediatrics, internal medicine, urology and mid-levels. The physician will be a full-time hospital employee and will enjoy a highly competitive salary and benefit package. Relocation incentives are available.
The hospital provides a wide array of services, including inpatient general medical care, a special orthopedic nursing unit, inpatient and outpatient mental health care, intensive care, obstetrics, and inpatient and outpatient surgery. Ancillary services include laboratory; radiology examinations, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, bone densitometry and PET CT; wound care, infusion therapy and sleep studies. The hospital has five operating rooms, daVinci robotics, two endoscopy suites and a twelve station hemodialysis service. The hospitals radiation oncology service utilizes an IMRT linear accelerator, CT treatment planning and provides brachytherapy. The hospital operates a home health service, a hospice and is the countys public health nursing service provider. Also associated with the hospital are a 79-bed nursing home featuring an 18 bed Alzheimers care unit and a senior living facility.
The active medical staff at is composed of a wide variety of full time specialists, including family medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, psychiatry, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and podiatry. Hospital based providers include a pathologist, radiologist, radiation oncologist and six certified registered nurse anesthetists. In addition, periodic outreach clinics in several specialties are provided by physicians from Des Moines, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska. The hospitals emergency department is continuously staffed by dedicated emergency room physicians.
The town is a community of 10,000 residents located 90 miles west of Des Moines, Iowa and 90 miles northeast of Omaha, Nebraska. The community is a regional hub for shopping, commerce and healthcare, with 76,000 people residing within a 26-mile radius of Carroll. While the community is located in an agricultural area, the economy is supported by many non-agricultural businesses, including a claims processing center for a national real estate warranty insurance company, a nationally known manufacturer of windows, a manufacturer of jet aircraft engine components and a multi-state distributor of institutional foods. The areas economy is supplemented by a number of smaller local businesses and has a thriving shopping area which includes many nationally known retailers.
