Job Details Department: Medical-Surgical-Pediatrics Position Description: Registered Nurse (RN) Status: PRN As Needed Shift: Variable shifts, As Needed Shift Time Schedule: Variable Shifts, As Needed Days: Variable Days, As Needed Requirements Education/Qualifications Required: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. RN License in the State of Iowa. Experience Required: Hospital experience preferred. Duties Expected: Direct patient care. Care of the complex patient – all age groups. Position requires a positive individual who is flexible with excellent clinical and customer service skills, has an ability to work well within a team; exhibits excellent communication skills, as well as having a commitment to teamwork and team problem solving in a solution oriented manner. Applicant must have excellent critical thinking skills as well as able to handle multiple issues and prioritize effectively. Individual must be able to work independently. Job Responsibilities: Registered Nurses are responsible for providing excellence in patient care, collaborative and comprehensive care based on patient and/or family needs, providing assessments, treatment, and care on assigned units. Staff Registered Nurses will also practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal, and hospital policies as well as consistently demonstrate behaviors that model the Core Values and the hospital’s mission statement. Effective written and verbal communication skills in the English language. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area (BSP), circumference, and volume. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Required License / Certificates: Registered Nurse with current RN license. BLS certification. ACLS certification (90 days of hire into a training program). PALS certification (90 days of hire into a training program). NIH Stroke Certification to be completed by end of the week of NEO MICN and TNCC preferred. CEN encouraged.
