Job Description
Concentric Methods is seeking a Registered Nurse (PRN) to join our team in Bethesda, MD in support of the NIH.
Responsibilities:
Independently provide social work services to Clinical Center patients, families and staff throughout the entire organization.
Utilize a full range of screening, assessment, diagnostic, treatment, consultative and educational services.
Perform psychosocial assessments of patients and families in order to identify those factors which have a bearing on his/her illness and recovery and his/her ability to cope with stress and the requirements of the research protocols.
Assess and make recommendations to the physician about patients in pre-admission or admitted status as to their ability to tolerate research protocols and separation from the home environment.
Develop a treatment plan based on assessment of psychological social and medical realities designed (1) to enhance the validity of the research and (2) to assist patients in making optimal hospital adjustment for requisite time of the study and arrange adequate discharge planning.
Collaborate with staff on treatment modalities, including crisis intervention, individual, family or group psychotherapy, emotional/environmental support and resource planning.
Job Requirements
Master’s Degree in Social Work. Certification as an independently licensed clinical social worker. There is no equivalent educational experience that substitutes for education and licensure.
Qualifications form self-regulated practice in the form of appropriate state licensing at an independent clinical social work practice level (LCSW or equivalent).
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical setting.
Advanced casework skills to deal with complex, psychosocial/medical problems.
Experience in acute care medical setting (hospital social work, specifically medical discharge planning and outpatient resource finding for underserved populations).
Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
